Retailer’s Country Mile program honors everyday actions that make a difference for neighbors, customers and animals across the country and bring the Company’s Mission and Values to life
BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO), the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States (the “Company”), is celebrating 10 years of its Country Mile recognition program by honoring a record 20 Team Members whose everyday actions make a difference for customers, communities and animals. The honorees were recognized in early March during the Company’s Annual Sales Meeting across stores, distribution centers, the Store Support Center (SSC), field activity support team (FAST) and Petsense locations.

20 Team Members were recognized in early March during Tractor Supply Company’s Annual Sales Meeting.
“For more than 85 years, Tractor Supply has been rooted in serving our customers, our communities and each other,” said Melissa Kersey, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer of Tractor Supply. “The Country Mile program recognizes the everyday moments that define who we are—whether it’s staying late to get the job done, helping a neighbor in need or stepping up for a community after a storm. It’s a simple but meaningful way we recognize our Team Members, and 10 years in, it continues to grow because those actions happen every day across our stores and teams.”
Team Members at every level can award colleagues who go above and beyond a “Going the Country Mile” badge. Those daily nominations get narrowed into monthly and quarterly winners, with a select group recognized as annual winners. These individuals receive a special invitation to the Annual Sales Meeting in Nashville, a financial award, a personalized plaque, a recognition ceremony and more.
The Power of Peer Recognition
Tractor Supply first established its Country Mile Recognition Program in 2015 following an internal Team Member survey. Team Members identified a need to develop companywide recognition. In response, a cross-functional team designed the Going the Country Mile program with the goal of recognition, not prizes. Further, that recognition would come from peers, which has been shown to have greater impact and engagement than top-down recognition.
The program has been designed to serve as a formal platform to celebrate the informal ways Tractor Supply Team Members embody the Company’s distinctive culture.
A Decade of Growth
On September 1, 2015, Team Members began awarding Country Mile badges to colleagues, nominating 25,000 individuals in only four months. During that year’s Annual Sales Meeting, the Company recognized 11 winners for efforts that included shopping for a disabled customer, changing a tire for an elderly individual, consistently serving as a resource for fellow Team Members throughout the district and more. Winners represented the Company’s nine regions, one distribution center and the SSC.
Ten years later, Tractor Supply’s winners represent 15 regions and several new areas of the business. In 2025, Team Members awarded more than 750,000 daily badges, an increase of 100,000 over 2024. While the program's growth is reflective of the Company’s, individual Team Members are more committed to the Company’s Mission and Values than ever and are recognizing each other for it more and more every year.
A Distinguished Group for a Milestone Year
As the only “prize” for daily Going the Country Mile badges is recognition, the actions it celebrates are genuine. The efforts are truly about helping others and upholding Tractor Supply’s Values that include Respect, Communication, Development, Teamwork, Accountability, Ethics and a Winning Attitude. Of the 20 Country Mile Annual Award Winners in 2025, eight provided invaluable product support, four took actions that saved lives and three demonstrated unwavering compassion for animals.
